Insect Spotlight: Scorpionfly

Scorpionfly Scorpionflies are harmless, but are so named because the males curl the tip of their abdomen up like a scorpions’ stinger. Life of adults and larva are not well known, but both are omnivores, eating decaying vegetation and insects. Adult scorpionflies have a head resembling that of a horse. To learn more click here.

Urban Agriculture in Bridgeport
