Forest resources managers, land trust members and land owners are invited to a free workshop, “Right Trees for the Right Time,” focusing on New England forests. Organizations are encouraged to gather a team of two to four core participants who can participation in all four sessions of the workshop.
The three-part workshop, on Oct. 1, 8 and 22 virtual sessions, plus one field-based component that will include a two-hour trip to a local forest to apply the principles your team will be learning. The total time commitment will be six to eight hours over the month of October.
The workshop is provided through a Long Island Sound Study Futures Fund Grant and is being led by Connecticut Sea Grant in collaboration with the Avalonia Land Conservancy and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science.
The workshop builds on the “Finding the Right Trees for the Right Time” workshop offered in 2020. However, participation in the previous workshop is not required for registration.
